CULTURE INCORPORATED
HOW WE WORK
FRESH THINKING. MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS. PRACTICAL PROGRESS
CURIOUS BY NATURE. PRACTICAL BY DESIGN
We believe the best work starts with curiosity.
With understanding what makes an organisation tick, what people care about, what helps them do their best work and what might be getting in the way.
We bring commercial experience, behavioural insight and fresh perspectives to conversations about culture, leadership and organisational performance.
Sometimes that means helping an executive team find its feet, bringing values to life or supporting an organisation through growth. Other times, it means asking harder questions about why something isn’t working as it should.
Whatever the starting point, our approach is collaborative, thoughtful and grounded in the realities of business.
HOW WE SHOW UP
We work alongside you, not above you or at arm’s length.
We bring curiosity, fresh thinking and a willingness to challenge assumptions, without assuming we have all the answers.
Our style is:
-
Curious and open-minded
-
Direct without being abrasive
-
Comfortable with complexity, but not interested in making things complicated
-
Collaborative, practical and human
-
Serious about the work, without taking ourselves too seriously
We ask questions that don’t always get airtime, connect ideas that aren’t always considered together and help people have conversations that move things forward.
We believe meaningful work can be challenging, energising and enjoyable.
WHAT GUIDES OUR APPROACH
We’re interested in how organisations really work, not just how they’re described in strategies, structures and values statements.
That means paying attention to:
-
What makes the organisation successful and distinctive
-
How leadership behaviour shapes everyday experience
-
How decisions are made and whose perspectives are heard
-
What helps people collaborate, contribute and perform
-
Where organisational intentions and everyday practices reinforce one another, or pull apart
-
How growth, change and pressure influence culture and behaviour
Our work draws on business psychology, behavioural science and commercial experience, helping us see the connections between people, organisational conditions and performance.
We don’t arrive with a predetermined answer. We work with you to understand the organisation and what will make the greatest difference.
CURIOSITY DOESN’T STOP WITH THE CLIENT WORK
Our thinking continues to evolve through research, conversations with leaders, emerging evidence and observations from organisational life.
Through initiatives such as Culture Pulse, we explore the patterns influencing culture, leadership, trust and the everyday experience of work.
We’re particularly interested in the connections that aren’t always obvious, the assumptions worth challenging and the questions organisations might not yet be asking.
These insights help inform our thinking, sharpen our questions and bring fresh perspectives to client conversations.
JUDGEMENT FIRST. TOOLS SECOND.
We don’t start with a framework. We start with your organisation, your people and what you’re trying to achieve.
Over time, we’ve developed tools and approaches that help make organisational dynamics visible, encourage better conversations and identify where attention can make the greatest difference.
We use them selectively, when they add clarity or value, not because every engagement needs a methodology.
The quality of the thinking matters more than the tools. What changes after we’ve left matters most.

Julie brings more than 30 years of international business experience to her work with organisations and their leaders.
Her career spans commercial leadership, organisational culture, executive advisory, coaching and facilitation, supported by postgraduate study in Business Psychology.
That combination shapes how she approaches organisations: commercially grounded, curious about people and interested in the connections between leadership, culture and performance.
Julie is comfortable working with boards and executive teams, but equally interested in what people across an organisation are experiencing. Some of the most useful insights come from conversations that don’t ordinarily make it into the boardroom.
She brings fresh perspectives, asks the important questions, challenges assumptions and helps people make sense of complex issues without overcomplicating them.
Her belief is simple: great cultures build great companies.
